Suspension Lift compatibility from 96-00. Please help.
I recently purchased a 1996 Dodge Dakota 4X4. Only reason I bought it, honestly was for the rims and tires that are mounted on it, 33x12.50’s on American racing rims in mint condition. it’s just the shell no motor no tranny. But for $100, I couldn’t say no. However, I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota 4X4, 4.7 5sp, it’s my project I’ve been tinkering with for a few months. I was wondering if the suspension lift, that’s installed on the 1996 Dakota will it work on my 2000?? Also, my 2000 Dakota needs a transfer case. Someone from a local salvage yard, said if I can find a older Jeep Wrangler with the 4.7 with the 5spd. It will be compatible, is this true? Or just a myth. Also, if I get the 2000 on the road, with blown out transfer case, I can still drive it and what not, just won’t have 4 wheel drive, correct. Someone Please help. #redneckgirlgreasemonkey
I would suspect that very little from the 96 (first gen) will transfer to the 2000. (2nd gen.) You can look at the tag on the t-case, (round tag, on backside of case) see which one ya got, and that will give you an idea of what you are looking for.
