Im in the process of swapping out my V6 in my 2003 Dakota for a 318 our of a 1998.
Im at the stage of replacing the con rod bearings - I put 4 in (not fully torqued) and the engine will turn by hand, but I put the other 4 in (also not fully torqued) and it won’t move.
Have measured the con rod journals and and they are within spec and the bearings are standard.
Not it sure what could be happening - any suggestions or infor would be greatly appreciated.

Yes - I pulled the pistons out and changed the rings on them. Each piston was numbered and marked as to its location. I also checked the clearance of each ring before installing on the piston.
The bearings can only go in one way as they have tabs on them. The caps match with rods (oil holes line up)
