Default Brakes

I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota Sport with 45k miles. ( I don't drive it much)

A few days ago - I was driving and noticed the brake were NOT acting right. The brake return was NOT working . In other words - I would step on the brake and in order to bring up the brake - I would have to use my foot to bring up the brake back up.

So - several mechanics said :

It's the master cylinder - We changed it and NOPE
It's the booster - We changed it and NOPE
It's the brakes themselves - We changed the brake rotors and pads - NOPE
Must be the brake caliper - We changed them and NOPE

And now the ABS light is on ...

OH and I forgot to mention - when the truck is OFF - the brake returns . When the truck is ON - the brake will NOT return ...

Any ideas ?

Get the code read. It may or may not be related to your current problem.

It sure sounds like a booster problem.
When the engine is running vacuum is applied to help apply the brakes when you depress the brake pedal. With the engine off there is no pressure differential.

sure sounds like a failed booster. But get that ABS code read, I bet it's an air issue.
