Default Key Fob

I have 2001 Dodge Dakota SLT 4x4, key fob stopped working, then next day door chime would not stop chiming. did some research and replaced the CTM from wrecking yard out of 02 Durango. No more chiming and everything works except the fob. I've tried to re-program the fob but it wont. Do I need to take to the dealer?

More than likely. I believe you have to have 1 working fob for the CTM to be able to program extras.

Thanks for the reply, now have a new problem. driver side headlight went out, changed it but it still won't work and the driver side turn signal blinks super fast--every half second.

The headlight could be the CTM. The fast blinking turn signal could be a bulb or bad ground. Make sure all the lamps work.

You will need to see the dealer for the FOB.

Does the fob have a new battery? As for the light the it's a known occurence for the light sockets to go bad, happened on two different Ram's I owed.

The FOB can't be programmed to his new CTM without a working (with the new CTM) FOB.

Failed drivers on the CTM for the headlights are pretty common.
