Just wanted to share some info in regards to my Hurst Line Lock that I recently installed in my 03 Dakota.. Mounting the solenoid was easy. There is flat spot on the drivers fender right across from the master cylinder near the brake control module. They do sell a universal install kit that contains fittings and brake lines. I did not get this kit as you will also need to buy adapter fittings for the install. I went to my local Canadian Tire and got pre made lengths of brake line. (make sure you also use a tube bender to bend new line..) The oem brake lines on my truck are what they call bubble flare. The Hurst line lock is a universal one meant to be using 3/16 inverted flare brake lines. The special adapter fittings I needed for this job, I got from my local NAPA store. Parts I got are listed below::
1745000 - Hurst Line Lock
PS330 - Canadian Tire (exit line used to go from lock to frame mounted splitter block)
PS320 - Canadian Tire (input line used to go from master cyl to lock)
148-3A - NAPA (fitting used to connect exit line to lock ((3/16 female inverted flare to 1/8 male pipe))
149-3A - NAPA (fitting used to connect input line to lock ((90' 3/16 female inverted flare to 1/8 male pipe))
641-5026 - NAPA (adapter fitting used to connect brake line to m/c ((10mm male bubble flare to 3/16 female inverted flare))
641-3315 - NAPA (adapter fitting used to connect brake line to splitter block on frame ((12mm male bubble flare to 3/16 female inverted flare))
You have 4 wheel ABS it looks like, so your computer may get upset about the linelock being present. Just a heads up. Maybe I am seeing wrong?
mine is RWAL and I'm working on getting a LL put on it. I was just going to cut and re-flare an existing line, I have two of those 90 degree fittings on my LL facing opposed. Mounting will be the only real pain.
Good to know, i was confused seeing the module directly below the L/L.
I could mount mine real nicely with a pair of 6" long 3AN braided hoses. But oh well.
Mine is an 01, maybe the fittings stayed the same and I can make/bend some repro lines...
641-5026 threads into the master cylinder and accepts a standard brake line?
641-3315 threads into the distribution block and accepts a standard brake line?
Did you bypass the factory bias/distribution block under the master cyl?
Good to know. Might make my life alot easier, be able to put the LL where I want it. since it's before the shuttle valve i'm sure you get a brake warning light with the LL engaged, but who cares what the dash looks like when you're racing. Long as it has oil pressure i'm sending it.
