Yeah maybe I'll just suck it up and buy a brand new PCM. Just wish the dealership didn't have to do the work..so damn expensive! Plus I'll have to pay a huge tow bill to get it there because I'm so far from the Ram Ranch.

Swapping the PCM really isn't that much of an ordeal, if you can get one from the parts store that is pre-programmed, shouldn't take more than 15 to 20 minutes to swap it out.

Yeah you are right the swapping is easy but none of my local parts stores have pre programed PCMs and the Ram Ranch said all vehicles 05 and earlier have to have the PCM in the vehicle in order to flash it. Don't know if that's true or not? I was literally minutes from ordering a PCM from carcomputerexchange.com until i read all the recent reviews. How they stay in business is a mystery to me, it's horrible! Can't believe they are allowed to advertise on this site?

Thing is, they still have a good BBB rating. Even though bad reviews abound. There is 'autocomputerexchange' and ebay, they have a 100% positive feedback rating.......

Oh didn't know about autocomputerexchange.com I'll check them out thanks. That other company only had a 2 star rating.

I seen solo while searching too. I don't get how the BBB gives these places a good rating but the actual customer reviews are horrible? I guess it's buyer beware type deal.

Part of it is that the shops are using donor PCM's that they have to find or have turned in as cores, then fix and program them. When I had Autocomputerexchange make my V6 one, it took them 4 days to even find one that they could program, they overnighted it to me for free. This was the better part of 6 years ago. It's only gotten worse since then, I'm sure.

That, and the fact that its the folks that have problems that will post up about it. The folks that everything works great, you simply don't hear from.
