I have a 1999 dakota with a 5.2 and I was wondering if anybody had ever fashioned their own cold air intake or if they just knew a way to do it by re-routing the intake pipe or something like that.
Thanks @HeyYou I've been looking at a throttle body spacer and 1.7 roller rockers but I've opted to start with a cold air intake simply because it's a cheaper option. I am looking to bring my engine more power by making it more efficient, giving me more power and even slightly more mpg.
Throttle body spacer does nothing. Aside from lighten you wallet. (which may give you an additional .00001 second off your quarter mile time.....) They are designed for wet-flow system. (fuel AND air) On a port fuel injected engine, that don't do squat.
The roller rockers will get you about 10hp/tq across the board. Makes you cam think it's bigger than it actually is, and is computer friendly.
Headers will nicely compliment the rockers.
Adding power to get better gas mileage simply doesn't work. You like the extra power, so, you tend to have a heavier foot. Maybe you have more willpower than I do.
