You aren't going to be able to accomplish your goal on the side of the street. With the mileage you have on your motor, chances are good the valve seals are shot, the valve guides are worn, and so are the piston rings. A leakdown test would tell the tale, but, that requires a source of compressed air. Of course, you can't really change a motor on the side of the street either.....

feel confident I can do it tho, also feel I don’t have a choice.
Air compressor I have. Testers I can get(we have great tool loan programs at our parts stores).
when I started this I was under the impression from the symptoms(exact match) I had a plenum issue, even talking to a few mechanics they suggested the same thing. Found out that wasn’t my issue when I removed the intake.(yes, common sense did tell me something was odd when the parts ordered was 8 gaskets, but thought the people I talked to knew more than me, but must have missed the 4.7 when I said it)
