Does anyone know what that light means or how to read the code for it?

Did you check the gauges? One of them should be showing a problem. Check engine light (CEL) is the one that spits codes.

the gauges all look good. The check engine light is on also. I just bought this truck. It has a few thing I need to fix. One thing is that the red check gauges light is spelled wrong. Gauges is spelled gages

Most auto parts stores will read the code for free, or you can pull it up by doing the key dance. https://itstillruns.com/pull-dodge-c...t-6054640.html

List of codes here.... https://www.troublecodes.net/chrysler/95-98truck/

The site you gave me the link to says the process is for a 2007 Dakota. I have a 1997 Dakota. Will it work on my truck. It isn't licensed so I can't drive it to a part store to use their obdll device.
