OBD1 5.2 Swap into 98
I'm thinking of buying a 1994 Dakota ext cab for the 5.2 Magnum to drop into my 1998. They're asking ~2k for it, but the engine itself was replaced by Dodge about 8 years ago and only has about 30k miles. A couple electrical gremlins (namely fuel pump works, doesn't show gas level), but about it for problems.
I know I have to swap out the sensors for OBD2 versions (crank, cam, temp, what else?) What all would be involved in converting and dropping this 5.2 into my 98 to replace my 3.9? Subsequently reversing for the 3.9 to resell or backup in the 94.

I have been getting some info about swapping a 5.9 in to my 98 as well. From what I understand so far all the 3.9 accessories and harness will work on any year 5.2 or 5.9 Magnum, then you have to add the wires for the 2 extra injectors. The computer part is what confuses me because I am getting different answers on what will work. I have heard I can keep my 98 v6 computer and have it reprogrammed for the V8, but some say that won't work. Others say a 5.2 or 5.9 computer will work but has to be from the same year Dakota, some say any 97-99 v8 computer will work, some say it has to be for a 5.9 only, and since mine is a manual it has to be from a manual transmission truck. I emailed a tuner about this a month ago but never heard back from them. I guess it will be trial and error.
