vent and heat problem

Default vent and heat problem

i got a problem with the heater vents in my truck ..the 1st problem is the car lot i bought it from installed the heater core.problem2 is the heat comes out every vent (defr,floor, every were ) and problem 3 is there is ice cold air coming out of my glove box so i asume they broke some thing what would my best option for atleast get the cold air to stop from coming out glove box the misses has to use a blanket on her legs when she rides with me...thanks for any help

Chat with the car lot you bought it from, and see if they will do anything for you. If not, gonna have to pull the dash, and see what's up.

Try working something out with them where you can take it somewhere else and they cover the bill. Not having a mechanic doesn't absolve them, if there is a warranty in place.

ya no warrenties on any thing and as much as i talked them down on price they probably wouldnt be much help...they were not ready for some one to show up with a floor jack and crawll all over truck lol

ill have to tare in to it after the hollidays ...and see what all they broke or plain didnt install

I replaced the heater core in October on my 99 Sport. Take your time doing it, it's really not that hard, just intimidating and LOTS of fasteners. Taking pictures as you start to disassemble will help remind you if you forget which type screws or pieces go where. At a minimum pre-order the plastic fasteners that the 5 or so top dash screws screw into, odds are they will crumble when you remove the top dash. And since the shop had a clown working on it, no telling what is there now. Getting one of those in-expensive plastic panel tool removal kits sure helps too. I cringed everytime I removed one of the push on panels (like the one around the instrument panel and climate controls). The little plastic tools help to keep from marring up the panels.

those upper bolts were mising and the dash was flopping around so i put those plastic dry wall screw things to keep it from making noise lol. ill order up the clips and such cense i know there toast
