Default AWD Dakota??

Are there any AWD Dakotas? Having a debate. I thought Dakotas only were 4WD?

97-00 was part time 4WD by floor shift only. 01-03 offered an AWD/"full time 4WD" mode in the electronic transfercase if such was optioned out on the build sheet. I don't think it was a standard offering for 4WD.

I think the only real difference was which transfercase they used. The NV242 is a manual shift, full or part-time case. Likely be a direct bolt in, with some finagling to get a shifter to work. (manual)
