If you want to pay dealer pricing for shocks, they would likely be happy to sell them to you........ Which ones have you tried, and what didn't you like? What is the goal here?

Welcome to DF! Moving this to second gen dakota for ya.

For a well controlled rebound ride its hard to beat Bilstine 4600 Series
For a more floaty ride, you probably want a weaker shock something like base model shock like Monroe OEspectrum or Gabriel Ultra
Many people like the KYB AGX Adjustable shocks, though, you might have to do some shock spec searching to find ones that will fit on the Dakota.
OR
You could try the MOPAR OEM shocks. Rock Auto Claims to carry them.

OR
Buy them straight from Dodge.

What “success” are you looking for?
