Default Identifying Part

So I’m in the process of replacing my bed. Got it off and ran across this item that I have no idea of what it is. It’s back by the rear bumper, it stretches across the rear frame assembly, it consist of a bar and 2 dome looking items up next to the frame. I’m attaching pictures, hopefully someone can help this Dakota newbie out??

thanks
Griff

More than just a tad. I purchased it off Craigslist, the PO assured me that it was rust free, took him on his word and a rust bucket showed up to my front door. You live and learn, just gonna leave it at that.
