Default Lower coolant hose leak question.

Gen 2, 3.7/4.7 Coolant leak question.
Has anyone here ever developed a leak in the lower hose that actually sprayed onto the crank pulley and belt?
And,,
How may have ever found the plastic thermostat housing to be bad?
Considering the housings are somewhat affordable I guess it would be on the safe side to go ahead and order one.
Although im wondering if the hose has actually failed or if maybe the factory spring clamp has?
Can the OEM spring clamp be reused or should i put a regular hose clam on?
My fear would be over tightening the hose clamp and cracking the housing.
Thoughts, experience.?

It's my understanding that the plastic thermostat housing like to warp, so, no matter what you do, it still leaks.

Spring clamps are indeed re-usable.

I just mentioned this in another thread, so I'll quote myself here...

I've personally experienced that on a few cars, till I learned.

Yup, mine warped.

Put a new one on and no problems. I did reuse the spring clamp.

New hose and OEM thermostat at same time too.
