Unhappy Need More Speed

Hi, I have a 02 Dakota with a 4.7 v8. The engine has a govorner at 98 mph and i know that engine could do so much more. Any of yall know how to get around this?

Various tuners will remove the speed limiter. Question becomes, do you really WANT to go faster than that in a TRUCK?

98 MPH sounds wrong. I think they're governed to around 115-120. I remember mine chipping in around thereabouts. I was young and dumb back then....some months ago.

The gearing could play a role in it's top speed

I don't think the speedometer cares about gearing. Rear wheel speed sensor tone ring is behind the ring gear..... so, gear changes simply don't matter. Tire size does though.

They make a after market supercharger kit for the 4.7 but it would probably just blow out the intake and head gaskets LOL
You could also add coffin rails to the side.. you know,,,, for a quick burial .
