Default 2002 Dakota cooling

I have an '02 Dakota Sport 4.7 L 4x4 and I'm wondering if I can just remove the clutch fan and use the stock electric fan only for cooling? And if so, are there any modifications that would be needed.

No, the electric fan is simply an aux fan that comes on as needed. It is not capable of cooling the engine all by its lonesome. You would need a MUCH meaner electric fan for that.

I removed mine and the temperatures are fine MOST of the time. Some summer days it has to go back on though when the electric fan seems to be cycling a lot or struggling to keep up. I just keep the fan and a big wrench under the back seat and it takes 30 seconds to take it on or off whenever wherever. Definitely a do at your own risk kinda deal though

I did it for a summer it worked fine...until I splashed through some deep puddles and shorted out my electric fan.

yep, electric only is fine in moderate weather. Most of the time you are moving anyways.
