Thumbs up need a scanner

Anyone recommend a good scanner for a 2nd gen Dakota?
I tried a few cell ph aps they gave me nothing but the code a p0420 Catalytic Converter.

My Catalytic Converter has only 60k on it so I'm thinking O2 problem. Pulled 2 plugs they look perfect tail pipe is a little sooty. Rebuilt the engine in 2018 runs good all the cell ph apps say no pending codes or stored codes just the p0420 autozone gave me the same info p0420.

I want to get a look at fuel trim see whats going on so Anyone recommend a good scanner around $50.

Engine 2.5 one down one up O2 all exhaust system in excellent shape.

I tried Torque lite it was better than the other apps but gave you little info.

I can try pro for $4.95 its cheap.

I'm not sure if this has what u need but it does have fuel trim an 02 readings on each bank.
Its CarSys.,also MotorData obd. But I like the 1st one.
No cost.
Yea apps with more features likely cost more but in some areas the autozone rents a pretty good obd2 scanner/ reader [the higher end one that reads ABS too]

Yea I've been checking its features out found the fuel trim stuff. So in the morning I will re-scan it.
What should the trim setting look like if I remember short and long should be equal.
First time trying to understand these things.

Aftermarket cats, if that's what you got, can go bad quick. They get stingy with the precious metals. Back in the day, my wife had a Corolla that she replaced the cat every 1-2 years before she decided to sell it. I purchased a Walker cat and it was warrantied for five years, but sold the car long before the period was up. Don't know how it's holding up, but that wasn't too bad.
