Default 03 Dakota 5.9 hesitates and popping at low speeds

Have a 03 Dakota with the 5.9 360 and today is started popping when pulling out from a stop, it also hesitates but the kicker is that I don’t have no engine light on and while it’s popping if you floor it then you better hold on cause it straightened right up and takes off good, any help would be greatly appreciated

Check cap, rotor, plugs, and crank sensor. If you have a modus, MT2500, or DRB3 or a friend with any of the above, check the fuel sync to make sure nothing has moved, or to correct something that has moved.

Not necessarily. The computers in these trucks are extremely dumb - It has to be almost not running to set a sensor code.

Now emissions? Just sneeze and you'll get an EVAP or misfire code. (Misfire is not actually a knock sensor, but an O2 sensor pulse timing sense)

Oh ok, so today I started it up and just let it idle and the idling started to do what it was doing like up and down and almost shut off but it never shut off so I let it be for a few and it finally straightened right out and purred like a kitten, so I’m going to try it again and then take it for a ride and see if it repeats
