Default Broken column shifter

I managed to crack the pot metal holding the column shifter on my 01 quad cab. How hard is it to replace this? It looks like it's a couple torx screws, but I haven't seen any guides online detailing process. Or am I sol and just need a new column all togethet

I doubt you will find the part separately in any event. Best bet is to find the whole column, and swap it out. Or, if you are feelin' really froggy, tear 'em both down, and rebuild yours.

I might...might have mine or the one off my donor column. I don't recall. Yes it's a couple of torx screws and a spring. There's some other spring-loaded gizmo's mixed in though, for stuff like key interlock and steering wheel interlock.

Realistically all I need is the metal bracket (The little pot meal piece in a U shape that holdes the shifter lever.), but if it does come off, then at least I have a starting point. MH, if my sourcing doesnt pan out, I may chat via PM.

I just went and looked, and I sold the shifter lever, but the bracket you need is still on my donor column.

So it's really 3 torx screws to replace. Got it for 17$ at my pull-a-part. Only quirk now is I can change gears without the key in the ignition

That's the spring-loaded gizmo's i mentioned. I bet they flew out and you didn't see them. Does the steering wheel interlock still work?
