Default Trans fluid info

What's the range that transmission fluid levels rise from sitting warm for a while 45min an no driving-- to after a good 30 min drive-?
It was at the low mark when warm an not driven. Its risen a lot after driving.
it's a 3.9 automatic 2wd ,01?
Im guessing 3/4-1 qt?

It can move a good amount on the stick. That's why there's both a cold and warm range on the stick.
I don't know how much the volume changes but whenever I check mine I do it after a nice long drive and just be sure it's in the safe range of the warm spot.
Is there any reason or problem you're asking this or just curious?

Need to be sure you are checking fluid with the trans in neutral as well. Checking in park will give you an artificially high reading.

Yes I always check it in neutral.Ususally after a run.I needed to top it off before run an didnt know how much was gone.
I lost over 2 qt at of fluid from shaft being out /tilted .
I looked at it an at warm in neutral [before drive]I filled it to the low mark-- looks like that was too high.
-after a run an hot it was a lot higher!
I have to remove some now- not sure how much.
Just trying to get a idea where -exactly- it needed to be at on the reading after starting it an warming in neutral -before it gets driven..

thanks
