You like blowing holes in pistons?

How bad is the piston? Then again, it likely doesn't matter, no matter how you look at it, you are going to need to tear the engine down completely, and thoroughly clean it. That will also tell you what parts you are going to need....... It ain't gonna be cheap, and it ain't gonna be easy. If you haven't rebuilt an engine before, I think you would be further ahead just finding a replacement motor, and dropping it in there. Bear in mind, the 4.7 went thru a LOT of changes over the years, and they are NOT all interchangeable.

Wow. That's bad...... Why so much rust on the cylinder walls? Has the engine been open for a while?

Looks like it was ran lean and/or low on crankcase oil and/or with a plenum oil leak for a long time, leading to hot cylinders, detonation, and ultimately mechanical failure.

I think I'd go a bit further than that. That's a pretty hefty chunk of metal missing from the deck in that picture of the bad piston. If it were me, I'd not trust that block.
