I think my altenator isn't charging my battery right.

Could have diagnosed that yourself and converted to external regulator for less than 1/4 that. Oh well.

you NEVER unhook a battery terminal while running, on anything with a computer. NEVER. YOU might well have killed that computer, in so doing.
