Default Starter wire harness connector

Hey - I am replacing my starter after 1 year. Other one failed. Question - how do I release this clip? I don’t want to snap anything off. #5 in the diagram.

Think you need to pull the red feller back a bit, then press down on the black tongue sticking out.

Is there something I can spray in there to loosen the gunk?
Or I'm thinking of just leaving the connector on and removing the new one from the starter.

Got it open. Blew a little compressed air from a can in the joint and loosened some of the gunk out. Starter turned right over! Happy Day!!
