Follow the advise on the crank sensor. I changed mine out twice before I got one that worked. Also the 02's, Bosch is not agreeable with this engine.

Just came back from replacing the Crankshaft position sensor and i noticed something very strange while i was replacing it.
there is a black wire hanging off a screw leg under the hood on the passenger side closest to the windshield there is no nut on the screw leg to hold this wire in place
also this same wire slips and runs down right above the top bolt of the crankshaft sensor. I thought the wire was grounded to the sensor but there is no way as the screw wouldnt fit in the hole of the wire.
i traced wires back and all are going back to the negative side of the🔋 so im assuming these are loose ground wires
but were does the one by the crankshaft sensor connect to or can i just tap it to the body?

Sensors aren't grounded to the body, they go back to the ECM as the ECM has to take careful measurements. The ECM will send 5V out the power line and measure the voltage coming back to determine what the sensor is seeing.

That being said, you can get funny problems with loose grounds, so if you found a missing bolt I'd find a bolt that fits and bolt that sucker down. Since the engine was replaced, this is likely something that was bolted down, but was missed when the engine was put back together.

Very understandable the wire is connected to the firewall
and slips down above top bolt by crankshaft position sensor
its just hanging there where does it go?

That I don't know, but a picture of what you're looking at might help.

Engine ground strap I bet. Bolts to back of head somewhere. And yes, there should be a nut on the firewall end.

So I have checked and there is already a wire grounded to the back of the head but I was wondering if this one connects to the passenger fender
