Ok guys I have a 02 Dakota an I have finish putting a 5.9 in it ..no problem there.the problem I'm having is I am done with that project an wife thinks I have time now to spend time with her now,little does she knows I am thinking of another project.i want to take the 5.9 out an put a 350 vortex motor in.i have everything that goes with the engine an transmission.i want to put a carb on it so I can take the sensors off.how big of a pain will it be an will it take some time to do it.i want to know so I can know to get my couch ready for me again..lol. the donor truck is a 05 Chevy...

 

Major pain to convert, and some things, you won't be able to. All the gauges are driven from the communication bus by the PCM. Even the friggin gas gauge.....

 

Don't believe a 350 vortec was available in 2005. For truck gas V8's it was a 4.8, 5.3, or 6.0.
