AC Compressor/valve & oil Questions
Hey I have a 99 dakota v6 3.9l 4wd auto it has about 220k on it and runs great but I'm having an issue I'm trying to recharge my AC compressor I just replaced it and since replacing it I'm having trouble getting the nozle for the recharge hose to fit on the low pressure port that's on top the compressor. Also the new compressor came with O rings and when I replaced it I noticed the last compressor didn't have any should I keep the O rings on or take them off? And how can I get the hose to fit on the low port it's a pain in the *** I wasted a out 3cans of refrigerant trying to fit it on thinking I had it. When I recharged my ac last time before the compressor went it was fine went on fine and now it's giving me issues. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Oh you know know I did an oil change Also at 218,800k miles and I was 2 qts low at 220k miles my truck has literally been eating gas like it'd day job I do alot of driving/hauling metal so I figured it's normal that it was that low already but just checking to see if anyone sees an issue with that before I put the two qts of 10w/30 high mileage oil in it, the engine light came on and after I put a qt of the oil in the light disappeared and then within two hours came back on... any help would be appreciated thanks guys!
