Control Arm Discontinued - What now?
Pay very close attention to the tie-bar. The frame rail moved in 2000 to fit the (5)45RFE transmission - and the tie bars are slightly different to keep the geometry the same. The K-member is the same, hence the lowers are the same. But where the frame rail attaches to the K-member was moved outward, and IIRC the frame is 1/2" wider apart at the rails. So the 98/99 tie bars are straight, the 00+ are 1/4" offset or something like that. It's also different from side to side.
Just wish I had the time to get it done the swap you did was better but I think a 2000 brake swap will be fine for me.
thanks
my heart condition is limiting me also I get tired easy these days.
So for my 2000 brake swap I just keep my 98 top control arms but need the 2000 ball joint or will the 98 ball joints work?

It might be as simple as 2000 ball joints in your 98 arms.
Just realized I have one 99 spindle I purchased to checkout 2 years back just need to see if the 2000 top control arm ball joint fits it.
I need to get this done I think I have a loose ball joint been getting a clunk on right turns this past year.
