The stock coil is more than adequate to the task for 99% of folks. They are cheap, and readily available as well. Accel doesn't have a real good rep with their coils........

 

ok so ill pick up a new coil for it.. Thanks HayYou and every one else for your help . ill try to work on it this week but im thinking its the pcm was watching on my scanner and it kept switching back and forth from open to closed loop when i ran it lastt and i never reconnected the o2 sensor and is not evan throwing codes for it or the other 02 that i forgot to connect when i pulled harness witch got me thinking i have unpluged injectors and the tps when its running and never any kind of code for that as well..

 

Make sure you check the PCM connector and wires before you go swaping. I've seen far to many people jump to a bad computer when its corrosion or a chewed wire.

 

i checked conecters again and all looked good i changed coolant sensor changed oil (was full of fuel ) i started her up and ran great and as my luck is going as soon as it hit 40 psi on gauge the oil filter burst uuuuuh . i swear i only worked on chevy once and being punished.. anyways after i cleaned up put new filter and oil again it ran up to 130 deg and went back to running ritch...hope fully when new pcm gets here she will run again as the calibur dont like snow

 

OK so recap

1999 3.9 V6

You have tried 2 sets of injectors
Fuel pressure is within spec
changed spark plugs (Cap/Distributor? Wires?)
Changed coil (the accel stock replacement i'm pretty sure isn't any better than an actual stock unit)
Unplugged upstream O2(s)

Code P1203 is not in my 2001 FSM. Google says it's a Cylinder 3 injector code where it does apply. Usually a P0303 misfire code would adjoin, I would think.

When it's acting 9 kinds of stupid, what does it do when you put it in reverse at idle? Does it die, try to die, or does nothing change?

 

no change other than depending on its mood some times have to slip cluch and light throttle or it starts pinging and other times no pinging or slipping cluch but almost half throttle or it will just chugg along slowly with eather white or black smoke out exsaust

 

OK, so unless I missed it, nowhere did you mention this was a 3.9/5 speed combo.

Have you ever had the clutch replaced, or otherwise had the transmission out, or replaced the crankshaft position sensor?

 

i have not pulled tranz or replaced cluch (but want too)..the only thing done before it went off the deep end was a week earlier i wired in my shift light. so i disconected it and also installed a v8 throttle bode so then i replaced all sensors and conectors but still truck about every 3rd stard would act up and now its as soon as it 130 coolant temp

 

i replaced pcm today and seems to be running good other than i think thermostat is stuck open now as never got over 170 deg on my 2 temp gauges but went 40 miles on my test drive so its fixed or its waiting to surprise me
