Oil pan gasket & oil pump replacement 1999 dodge Dakota sport 5.2
After i finally removed the oil pan,I noticed this discoloration. Any thoughts
on what it is
Its like the metal is stained?

Its from hot oil. Perfectly normal.

Rear main oul seal?
Thanks, also do you think I should replace the rear main seal since I m putting a new oil pump in. I really don't ever wanna do again!

Yeah, rear main seal is two more bolts.

Yep definately replace the seals .Its pretty easy too.I changed mine when i put a new pump in.
