The crank sensors were different between auto, and manual, so, you need the correct one for your trans.

but the computer is for a automatic and i have a manual trans the plug between a manual and auto crank sensor is different i would have to cut into the factory harness to change it or get a whole new harness to use a manual crank sensor.. and any idea if a 97 ram 4x4 oil pan will clear on a 93 dakota 4x4 manual
update not sure how to use the 97 rams wiring harness in the 93 dakota any help would be nice on that more than anything finding a harness out of a dakota will be impossible where I live

Need wiring diagrams for both the donor, and the recipient. You will use EVERYTHING from under the hood of the Ram, just need to match the wiring at the bulkhead connector going into the cab, and add the OBDII port to the interior. It sounds easier than it really is..... Not that its difficult, just tedious.

don't have the donor truck bought the motor and harness off an individual he planned on putting it in his duster and found a big block but what your saying is depin the bulk head to match up sensors and such so I can use a rams harness

Differences are likely emissions related.

If you have 3.9 5-speed and are swapping to 5.2 5-speed, re-use the 3.9 harness, add the 2 injectors, and get a 5.2 5-speed PCM.
