I live in a small town and I don’t have anything like that near me so I would like to just buy a stock replacement

Rockauto might have one, but realistically a junkyard would be best (have a shop press in new U-joints). Keep in mind the different transmission and axle options. 42/44RE and 46RE and AX15 and NV3500 are different transmission length; 8.25 and 9.25 axle are different pinion length; 97-99 are U-joint and 01-04 are companion flange (00 can go either way). Plus regular cab, ext cab, crew cab length differences.

You might be able to find a stock one that will work if you do some measuring and compare it to the specs of what is available, or have Adam's or Tom Woods Driveshaft make you one.

Yes i am aware of all the differences thats why i had to make my own driveshaft because the transmission in my truck was supposed to be an nv3500 but all I could find was an ax15. I swapped from a 42re to the ax15. But now i have an nv3500 that i am going to rebuild and swap im with the v8.

I would rather have the AX15 then the NV3500.

How is an ax15 better than an nv3500?

They are about equal in strength in factory form, however the AX15 is cheaper, easier to find, easier to rebuild, parts are cheaper and more available and they can be built to handle even more power. Good parts for the NV series transmissions are getting harder to find since they went out of business a decade ago.

I couldn’t find anything for the ax15. But i found an nv3500 at a scrapyard that i am rebuilding I figured that would be better since it was put behind a v8 stock

NV3500 never came behind a 5.9 though.... The Dak is fairly light though, as these things go.... so, if you can beef it up a bit, and don't beat on it too hard, may last quite a while.
