Default 5.9 swap

I have a 2001 dakota and i am eventually wanting to perform a 5.9 v8 swap, but to my knowledge the 2001 5.9 dakota never came factory with a manual transmission so what would i need to do about the pcm?

Use a 5.9 auto PCM and get it flashed for a manual tune. That's what I have in mine.

The dealer *might* do it for you, aside from that, talking to one of the folks that does custom tuning would be the other alternative. Depending on where you live, there might be a performance shop that would do it for you, or, talk to Hemifever tuning, or Flyin' Ryan performance. The latter two both offer custom tunes for dodge trucks. Not precisely cheap though.....

Keep the same wiring harness you have now and run the wires for the 2 extra injectors, there is a couple threads on here on how to do that.

Alright thank you. One more thing, do you know where i can buy a driveshaft? I had to make my own because the truck is a 2001 and i pulled the transmission from a 95 so neither of those driveshafts would work. I found the correct transmission at a scrapyard so with the v8 I would like to put in the new transmission and a new driveshaft.

A local driveline shop can lengthen or shorten and balance one for you.
