Bed Light install help
I picked up a pair of bed lights recently. I often have to load or unload at night, and it's dark in there with the tonneau. Can anyone help me with the installation? It's a simple matter of two wires, but I don't think a Haynes or Clymer is available for the 2004 yet so no wiring diagram. I would imagine that I'd want to run the bed lights off the parking lights so they wouldn't accidentally stay on when the truck is off. It would also mean the shortest wire run. Anyone out there know which wires to splice into (black -> X and white -> Y)? Thanks.
Not sure which wires go to which. But does your dak have the cargo light with the 3rd brake light on the back of the cab. Mine has it and it is controlled by the interior/dash light rheostat switch. On my 02 if you roll the switch to the top position it controlls that cargo light. You could wire the bed lights to that one if you havd it. Just a thought.
Sadly, no. That would have been too simple, and my luck just doesn't run that way. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
No one else out there has a wiring diagram or knows how to tackle this?

You're right, Strat. I could do that, but there are two downsides that I see. Running that much wiring would probably be a pain, and if I accidentally leave the lights on I end up with a dead battery. Wiring into the rear parking light would solve both of those issues so it's my preferred method.
You can requeast for the wiring diagram here and they will see if they can find you 1 https://dodgeforum.com/m_263624/tm.htm

That's a great suggestion. I didn't know that post existed. The problem is... the post is locked (temporarily?)
