Default E brake woes!

Recently bought an 03 Quad Cab Dakota SLT with the 5.9 Auto. The truck is no problem but after I got it home
and on a lift the E brake cables were gone, literally cut off where they come through the floorpan. The closer we looked
the worse it got- all the rear disc Ebrake parts are gone. They're needed here in PA for state inspection, so I'm a little
hosed right now.
Rock Auto had the cables but I couldn't see the actual brake parts. A local yard has a 10 bolt (8.25?) rear with everything in crusty shape
but not sure if it would fit a 9.25 rear. I've got to find something, anyone know of a source for the backing plates and misc hardware, or a
parts number list?
Or anyone near NW PA have a 9.25 3.55 ratio available?
Thanks!
Al

Are the E-brakes part of the rear caliper? Or do you have drum-in-hat, or just rear drum brakes?

There's (supposed to be) a backing plate behind the rotor that holds the rest of the parts that cables connect to, but I don't know if it rusted off and the previous owner just ripped them off or what. He was really creative as a DIY guy. Pop rivets and spray foam to fix the inner rockers (that's already fixed), sheet metal screws to hold the fender flares on after he "restored" the truck and about 100 thumb tacks holding the headliner fabric up!
The truck runs good, frame is good and body isn't bad for a PA truck. But this parking brake mess has me mumbling things about his ancestry! I was hoping someone would have an exploded view with part numbers so I can scrounging. Or maybe just swapping in the smaller rear and hoping it lives behind the 360 OK, it's just a work truck.

Have a look here. Scroll down to the 3rd section, that's the one you want. Looks like most of the parts are discontinued though.... You can get part numbers, and search on those, some aftermarket company likely still makes 'em.

Perfect! Thank you for that! At least I've got something to search with, now to start digging!

Man, if you had a 9.25 already i'd say steal the parts of a ram 1500. But with a disk brake 8.25, that's gonna be hard to find parts for. The cables themselves are fairly straight forward - but i'm not sure if they are different between disk and drum. The lengths are different for each wheelbase i'd assume.

Part of me wonders if a generic Wilwood kit could be made to work at the wheel end. I'm about to adapt a wilwood setup to the factory pedal cable in my truck.

I'd say the truck is definitely the problem. Don't kill your pocket... you should try the salvage yards. Plus you'll probably get get the benefit of seeing how they're set up before you pull the parts. Used to visit Harry's in Hazelton back when I lived in NYC.

Be aware there are about three pages to flip thru. https://wegotused.com/our-inventory/?inv[yard]=all&inv[make]=DODGE&inv[model]=DAKOTA&inv[manufacturer]=CH&inv[year]=&inv[part]=&inv[page]=1&inv[sort][yard_date]=0&inv[sort][yard_city]=1

A few pics of the E-brake setup I took many years ago... I might be able to take one of the back side this weekend. If the shoes look naked, it's because the linings fell off. LOL
