Default Horns

Hello. Does anyone know if the 1997 Dakota SLT 5 speed 6 cyl. came with one or two horns. Mine has one. looks like there might be mounting holes for another bracket but only one electrical lead. It sounds wimpy. Just wondering if that was standard. Thanks.

My '97 Dakota SLT has one horn but it isn't wimpy. Horns do wear out if used a lot, or your ground might be weak. If you want a louder horns, get some aftermarket. I got a pair of really LOUD horns a while back and am looking to put them on something. You can get some really loud one on Fleabay for $20-30, use your horn wire as a trigger, run a relay for the new horns and my plan is to mount mine in front of the a/c evaporator coil in front of the radiator. I thought about putting them on my Dakota but its horn is plenty loud.

Can try wiring in another horn in parallel. Any junkyard horn should do, long as you can find a way to mount it.
