Default unexplained engine problems

Hello dear users,

I did a major service on my Dakota 3.9 V6 last weekend.

Spark plugs, ignition cables, junction box, distributor finger exchanged for new parts.

In addition, the sensors: TPS, MAP and the IAC were exchanged.

After I did all this, the engine idled between 2800 and 3100 rpm, which of course was much too high. Disconnected the battery and waited 30 minutes for the control unit to clear itself.

Then the sensors were swapped back and the engine then only runs at 1700 rpm, which of course is also too high. I got an ODB reader from my neighbor to read out the stored errors. The error P0443 and P0134 was displayed and I don't know what to do to fix this error.

Furthermore, it currently needs about 30 liters of petrol per 100 miles, although I drove almost exclusively on the HighWay. That seems a bit high to me.

Do you have any advice on how I should proceed now so that I can fix the errors?

Greetings from Germany

Peter

You have a vacuum leak somewhere.

When replacing the TPS, turn the key on (engine off) and slowly sweep the pedal from closed to wide open and back, twice. This should issue a recalibration for the sensor.
Otherwise, gasket on the IAC or the elbow boot on the MAP is damaged.

Aftermarket parts? Hose from throttle body to master cylinder connected? Squeeze all hoses long every inch. Look for cracks. Take off battery cables, short together and turn key to crank position. This dissipates static electricity and gives you a full reset. You can also leave off overnight.

Default one part at a time then test

Don't ever change out parts like that these days, sparkplugs and wires ok hard to go wrong there but changing out all your sensors at one time don't do it. because then trying to figure what part is the problem becomes much harder best to just swap out one sensor take a test drive if good swap another sensor out test again.

I've had bad rotors, caps, sensors you name it I've seen it so one part at a time then test.

problem is good parts are hard to get these days.
