Default Air bag light turning on and off

Hello, I've got a 4dr 2003 Dodge Dakota 4x4 manual transmission. Recently the Air bag light turned on for a few minutes then turned off. Ever since then, the light turns on and off several times each time I drive. I can't pinpoint anything specific, seems to happen at all sorts of random times (turning, hitting bumps, accelerating, braking, cruising, etc). It never stays on long and will turn on/off about a dozen times on a 15 minute drive.

It's very likely a loose connection or corroded wire. I'm just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of where to look, common failure points, etc. Any sort of layout of where the sensors are would be a great help too.

Thanks!

See if there are any codes. That should point you where you need to look.

I've checked for code (have tried to while the light was on). Nothing came up.

Need a fairly high zoot scanner to read SRS codes...... the typical parts store scanner won't.

Possibly it's the clockspring failing. Intermittent issues can be hard to find.

Closing the loop if anyone comes across this post.

The issue continued to be intermittent but got progressively worse. I decided to try replacing the clock spring as it's fairly simple and inexpensive. Problem solved!

Best video description I found here:

It's not in English, but the only real translation you will need is that the torque spec on the steering wheel nut is 35ft/lbs.
