Gen 2 Dak 4.7
This is my third gen 2 one other Dak and one Durdagnabit. The latter was actually a pretty decent ride I just prefer the Dak and the Durango had the 318 and I prefer the 4.7. in a LOT of miles I never had an issue like my current one. The mostmajor problem I ever had was the front end on the Durango grenaded. Front diff. Had a fuel pump go out on my other Dak and it had issues with PS pump leaking too which I corrected handily enough. My new one I had just finished all my Spring gussy up on. Oil plugs tranny service air/fuel system cleaned and inspected and such.
On my test drive my euphoria evaporated as I heard a rather ugly CRUNCH BANG and she started vibrating like a dog passing peach seeds. Off went the key and I coasted off to the side. Heard liquid hitting the ground when I got out which is never good but it was coolant not oil which made it a little better. It sems the secondary electric cooling fan decided it needed to explode and park parts of itself in my radiator. I've never seen and electric fan just come apart like that. Of course my first thought was i left a tool in there that fell in but ALL my tools are accounted for as are all nuts and bolts. I've got the new stuff all ready to go but I was just curious if anyone else had ever seen a fan commit such graphic seppuku without outside influence? Once I get it out and can get a gander I'll probably be able to see more exactly where the failure started but chiming in here gets my mind in the right place.
Thanks folks.

Radiator: (high capacity)
Never seen one explode. It's just a basic DC fan with two wire pig-tail. Mine was simply not working on my Dak and I drove it that way for about 8 years before I realized. Once I replaced it and it kicked in, I was like "that's how it supposed to sound!"
