Default Manual Transmission Conversion

l have a 99 Dak, 5.2 with, what I believe, is a NV3500 5 speed transmission. Of course this truck is geared like a truck. I am retired and use it for my everyday cruiser. I would like to put in a trans that will shift more like a car since I don't really haul anything. I would prefer a 5 speed. Looking for suggestions. I'm sure this has been discussed before but I am new to the forum and really haven't figured out how to search the topics. I plan on some mild upgrades to the 5.2 and maybe even a full stroker. Thanks in advance for the info.

2 or 4 wheel drive? Might be easier/cheaper to regear the rear diff if you are 2wd.....

What Heyyou said. With the NV3500 I think you should have 3.27 gears if 2wd. Other options are 3.55 if 2wd tow package or 3.92 if 4wd.

NV3500
1st - 4.02
2nd - 2.32
3rd - 1.40
4th - 1.00
5th - 0.73
