Default 2004 Dakota towing package OEM radiator

I just signed up here as a last resort. I bought this truck new and plan to be buried in it so I need it to cool my body. Problem is I need the right radiator and I can’t believe in this day and age how hard it is to find it. The original gave it a couple years ago after a fine life of cooling and the shop put in a cheap 1 1/4 UAC in its place even though I told them it’s a towing package. It was originally replaced in late fall so the outside temp was quite low and it wasn’t as noticeable although I could tell right off the temp ran higher than it used to. By the time summer came and I realized I couldn’t town my trailer and tractor it was too late. I was stuck with this damn thing. The replacement lasted 14 months and the plastic tank side blew out mid summer. Took it back since they were supposed to warranty the radiator and had the same conversation again. Came back to get my truck and they had put the exact same radiator that had blown out and told me that’s all they could do with the warranty so now here I am again. They also charged me 350 bucks for the labor so I won’t be goin back. I need a real radiator for a working Dodge truck! Please help??!

This is just cruising along on a 65 degree day. Not even pulling anything…. The original radiator barely left the low side of normal range even while towing.

350 to change a radiator???? Holy smokes. See if you can find an all aluminum radiator. CSF used to make 'em.

Likewise. CSF 3516 is the best affordable option. I researched the hell out of this back in the day so take advantage...

Thanks a lot for the info guys. I’ll have to admit I’m exhausted trying to make heads or tails of online reviews now and barely trust any of em. Am I right to assume that several of you have had the CSF 3516 installed for a while now with no issues? I found it on RockAuto for 60 bucks as directed and that’s a steal compared to what’s local. Just read the warranty info and realized I wouldn’t be using that at all if it fails. Pretty sure the return shipping would cost what the radiator was…😐
Also gonna be stuck with a new UAC 1 1/4 if anyone’s interested cause the shop ain’t takin one once of responsibility here. Maybe i can trade it for some muffler bearings or somethin…

I installed one back in 2013, so ten years and running. I've towed cars with this thing and no overheating issues, aside from a few times I forgot to tighten my radiator cap. Read my thread which speaks about the capacity. Remember to use distilled water if mixing concentrated coolant.

Same here, I ran it from ~2012? until I put the procharged engine in 3 years ago and had to make room for the intercooler.
