Default 2000 dakota throwing tranmission codes, first -30F day

my friend bought this truck 6 months ago. today is our first -30F day and while it started, it does not move at first. check engine light came on.

transmission temp reporting at 30F before it started to move, sluggishly. fluid is at level on dipstick, its red, dont see any glitter. truck has 156K miles.

once warm it does move but needs throttle to engage and while i can manually 1/2, drive is only one gear so... limp mode.

codes after reset are: p1732 underdrive pressure switch circuit
p1790 fault after A shift
p0731 gear ratio error in first

codes before reset: p1732
p1790
p0731
p0734 gear ratio error in 4th
p0733 gear ratio error in 3rd
p1791 loss of prime
p1720 line pressure fault
p1698 no transmission bus messages
p0700 transmission fault

ok guys, in your experience. where am I at?

I would be tempted to drop the pan, and see what the filter looks like..... most of the codes are from low pressure..... So, hope it is something easy.

I'm cleaning the garage up now. The weather report says it feels like -36 at the moment

160,000 BTUs of heat running out here and my feet are still a bit chilly...

I'll drop the pan later tonight

Oh? Your truck waits until it is bitter cold out to have issues? Gee, what a surprise. Murphy at his finest. My take on it? Murphy was an optimist.

Good luck, and let us know what ya find.

just got it in the garage a few minutes ago. garage is at 92F so, ima wait for it to warm up first.

my assumption/hope is there was condensation in the fluid. it froze in teh filter and caused it to low pressure all the things. MAYBE no huge damage but... ill know in a couple hours when i go back out there.

earlier today i was adding batteries to the cummins and fixing CTM door lock problems. my beater 1500 started just fine but it has no heat and doors dont close.... this spring im swapping a new cab onto the frame

Mr Dragon likely enjoys the warmth. Hope you house/garage are well insulated.
