Default Rear brakes

The little box on top of the rear differential , brake junction box???
The little box on top of the rear differential, I think it's called the brake junction box? This is the project I never wanted!!! Talk about a job from hell!
OK, so all I needed was the brake line of the rear wheel cylinder & it's turned into a complete makeover on the rear brake lines. I don't know what else to do? I've tried the whole "light tapping, pb blaster (that I used 7 days in a row), Bought a torch, but afterwards found out that's not such a great idea. I've been on this for a month now. Does anyone have any tips for getting the flare nuts off this thing? Or how to replace it completely? Where do I even find this box at to purchase? Or should I just call it a day & go spend hundreds with real mechanic? I mean I know I can a lot of deferent things, but apparently, the dodge is winning right now.

Live in the Rust Belt by any chance? That looks pretty familiar to me. (I'm in Michigan....)

With the lines lookin' like that, replacing ALL of them is likely gonna be your only path forward. Chemicals, and heat..... are gonna be your friends here.

Close. I live in SE Ohio. Kinda far drive? Chemicals are Def my best friend with this project. I've never used heat b4. The "guys" have usually done that part. But, I'm the "guy" now. Ive got a feeling ill prob end up going thru a cpl parts till i figure out how to actually work the heat properly. Doesn't that box have part of the gas line running into it?

I've already bought both rear lines to replace. I've replaced the shoes & springs & wheel cylinder. I'm just stuck in those "flare nuts," on that lil box.

Shouldn't be any fuel near there. The other end of the soft line, up by the frame though, that may be something to pay attention to.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot... what is that soft line anyway?

The flexible line that runs from up by the frame, down to the axle. Can't use a solid line there, gotta be able to flex as the suspension travels.

There is no such thing as a stupid question here. (aside from one you don't know the answer to, that you DON'T ASK.....)
