Default 01 Dakota 4.7

Having trouble won’t go into park on its own . Have to get under and put in park at the trany . Don’t see any visible issues with the cable other than is not putting into park and the shift lever is all the way up . Also when I get under and move the shift lever to park it does feel tough or hard to do .
