Quick question, replacing headlight bulb
I did a search and didnt find anything. I need to replace my driver side lowbeam on my 2001 Dakota and I am having trouble. I removed th battey so I could get to the opening easier and I unscrewed the ring that holds the bulb fixture in place. I then got the fixture loose but I cant pull it out because the wires are so short I cant get the bulb clear of the opening. Do I need to unhook the wires? I didnt want to break anything so I thought I would ask here first. Thanks in advance.
yeah.......those wires should just plug into that back of the headlight assembly. so you should be able to unhook those wires........change your light bulb and then re-hook up the wires. good luck!
I could be wrong but I thought the bulb changing instructions had you pull the assembly off from the front, unscrewing the whole headlight and dropping it out.
once you take the corner lense out, you should be able to see the 3 bolts that hold the housing in.
NOTE they are NOT the torque screws, these are used for adjusting.
