look under your truck, if you got a cat on each side of the y-pipe then your cat is clogged up. im thinking they came with two cats but i might be mistaken. 80,000 mile warranty on cats!!

Stan, actually according to federal law, because of EPA regulations, cats are warrantied for life. Just some FYI.

Cheked it out...right meaning driver's side correct...
seems a little rustier than other side
guess i'll pick one up and a case of beer and head over to the bro in law's welder..
wondering if code trips before it becomes a performance issue...or is it just
poor emissions..

thx

i had the same trouble code awhile back and cat definitely needs replaced. take it to a dealer and and get the work done for free . i took mine there and they replaced everything --the cat and both precats. if you get it your self and do it the parts cost quite a bit of money i believe it would've been $1200 for everything if it wasn't under warranty but those mother f***** were slow fixing it , they had it a total of 13 days , and stuck me with a 2005 chevy 4x4

For $1200 you could have had a complete custom, stainless steel, dual exhaust kit fabricated. Had ceramic coated headers put on and still had money left over ! ! I don't know what Dealer you went to, but wow, they suck! 13 days?!? Try a few hours!! ... i hate dealerships

$800 [sm=yikesomg.gif]... From the dealership yeah! How is it summit racing has them for sale for $80?? ... just another example of why I avoid dealerships like the plague. Anyway, I know you said it's not coming out of your pocket, so it dosen't really matter; but point being dealerships are rip offs! Hope it works out well for ya

I'd probably take the opportunity to put high flow cats in along with decent pipes. I can't wait until I am "forced" to do something with the exhaust on my dakota.

Hell 13 days was nothing , i took it to the same dealer (only dodge dealer within 80 miles) i dont remember what it was for , but i went on vacation to mex for 16 days came back went to dealer to get AND THEY didn't do anything except LOSE MY ****ING TRUCK!!!!! They forgot they even had it , i had to go find it myself it took me 3 hours to find it---The SOB's parked it behind a dumpster at a restaurant next door, next time i'm gonna drive it through the showroom windows.
