Default Magnaflow hiflow cat

I bought a magnaflow cat back set up a couple of weeks ago and I have yet to install it. My question is should I buy a hi flow cat to throw in while I'm doing the exhaust. Will it screw with my O2 sensors or throw a code for some other reason? Exhaust is all stock besides the cat back that I plan on installing. Do I need to worry about loosing low end tq.? Engine is also stock.

Thanx,
Jeff

hey

you don't have to change the cats, won't make that much of a differrence, but there is high flow cats out there with the sensor plug.. you have nothing to worry about, if you keep the stock cats.

How many cats does the 5.2 have? Just 1 like the 5.9? I would have a custom 2.25-2.5" into a single 3" Y pipe made to bolt up to the Headers/manifolds, into a 3" cat, into a 3" cat-back. I don't think you'll notice a loss of low-end with that setup, and it'll breathe much better at the top end as well.

gotta go with horatio102, 2.5 to Y to 3" to 3" cat to 3" system. low end torque, try a tb spacer or a bigger tb.
