Infinity wiring ??
I have a 98 ex/cab 2wd Dak w/ the Infinity System
My question is, I want to install a couple subs and amp, so, can I splice the remote power wire, to get sound through both systems? Or will I be fine with just the pre-outs from the back of the radio going to the amp and the remote signal powering the stock speakers?
I figured I'd ask before I make any more magic smoke :S

line level converters on the rears, and run a separate remote turn on. u can hook that into the ignition if u want. o, and if your back speakers have more than 2 wires going to the (shouldnt, but some of the Infinity systems are different) then u have to do a re-wire. i installed car stereos for a while, however i never did one for myself.
I replaced the stock CD player with a Pioneer head, and plan on using that to power the factory speakers, until I can afford to replace them. Haven't looked at the rears yet, was thinkin I might replace them with Alpine three way 6x9's, if possible.
In the fuse panel on the dash, there's an open spot for a fuse......could I use that for the keyed power to the amp? or is that constant power and how do I find out?

Your best bet for Power is to actually go through the fire wall grommet and connect directly to the battery. Use some really good RCA wires to connect the pre-amp output on the Head Unit (some units even have Subwoofer outs) to the input on the amp. Splice the remote wire into the blue wire in the wire harness on the head unit. A quick splicer will work really well for this.
Have you installed the head unit yet?

Ya, head Unit's in, and ran RCA's from the pre-amp outs on the back If I splice the remote power wire, does that affect the power level to the amp or the Infinity speakers? Im thinkin it shouldn't, cuz you can add wires to the battery without losing voltage

Splicing the remote should have not effect on the power level of either amp. The only thing the remote does is send a signal to the amp that power is available and the amp turns on and uses the juice from the battery/altenator. How much power/watts are we talking about for this system?
Yer right, it doesn't effect it, works fine. As far as watts, not enough....but then it's only powering a couple 8" Kickers. Before I get any real power I gotta replace the popping stock set. Im thinkin Ill fabricate sumthin to install 6x9's in back. Wonder if it's possible to run that in-line amplifier with a new speaker, or if I gotta replace the amp, or if I can take it out completely and still have sound with a regular spkr.
You should be able to run speakers off of the infinity amp, unless the wiring to the stock speakers is funky (anything more or less than 2 wires). As far as bypassing that amp, you'd probably want to start looking into getting a nice 4 channel amp and run all your smaller speakers off of that.
What kind of amp are you running? Is is a mono amp or 2 channel? If it's 2 channel, you can bridge it down and get more power from it...
