Swaybar bushings - Fixed!
I got tired of the creaking and groaning going over any little bump, so yesterday I replaced my bushings.
It's cheaper and easier than changing your oil, seriously.
Parts: ~$3.60 each from the dealer, took 2 days to get them in. They come pre-greased.
Procedure:
1) Leave truck flat on the ground (level works best)
2) Using 1/2" wrench, remove 4 bolts that hold U shaped cast iron bushing casings
3) Using wrench, pry bar, hands, etc., rotate entire swaybar so ends are pointing more or less towards the ground.
4) Slide old bushings off.
5) Slide new bushings on.
6) Push bar back into place and replace castings and bolts. Tighten.
7) Wash your hands.
That's it. Super easy, less than $10, and it completely got rid of the annoying noises from the front end.
I wish it did it for mine! I stripped mine down and used silicon grease on the same parts but it didn't make any differance, still creaking and groaning! I tried to do the same to the onther mounting bushes (the ones that hold the sway-bar to the chassis) but the bolts were too tight. I've since bought a 24" breaker-bar and will attack them soon. If that doesn't work I'll have to live with it as the thought of doing the wish-bone bushes is too much!

I also have a 2002 QC 4.7 I measured my sway bar and it measured out at 35mm. I cannot find front sway bushings for the 02. everything I have seen is only for 97-01. Did something change from the 01 to the 02?
I found these do you think they would fit. Sway bushings

I had a 2000 and at 10K I had it start. The dealer replaced them.
I traded that truck in for a V8 and it started around 40K

I bought my truck with 42k on it, so I'd guess at about 55k or so they started making noise. I'm at 72k now and they've been making noise again on cold dry days. Right now there's a lot of snow/ice on the road and so everything is wet and quiet.
