I had the Flowmaster 40 standard on my 2003 SXT V6 and now on my 2004 V8 SLT, both with automatic OD when cruising between 60 and 75 you just hear a low mellow tone the road noise is louder than the exhaust.....it is most noticeable from a stop to like 45 then the sound really drops off unless you have it floored.....so when on the hwy the only time you hear it over the road noise is when you punch it and if you have your tunes turned up you don't hear it at all unless your windows are down.........hope this help

Definitely get the 40 series. I just got one put on mine and I love it. I got the single in single out and dumped it right behind the muffler and I love the sound and it sounds really good for a V6.
